Bio

Tara O’Gorman, MSW joined Autism Empowerment’s Board of Directors in October 2016.

Tara currently serves as a Business Consultant for Concord Consulting Services, where she provides case management for individuals and families in Clark County and consulting services for nurse delegators and adult family homes in Washington state.  Previously she worked as Operations Manager and Staff Social Worker for In It Together RN.

Tara graduated with her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Valdosta State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. She also has a recent certification in Gerontology (GC) from Clark College.

Additional career highlights include working with at-risk juveniles in the school system; coordinating and consulting for social and support groups for tweens, teens, and young adults on the autism spectrum; writing and editing for print and online magazines; program-specific training including anti-bullying and anti-substance abuse education; homeschooling her children; office support, management, and marketing.

Tara is an active volunteer in the Southwest Washington community and has also volunteered for Salmon Creek TOPSoccer. In addition to her volunteer work with Autism Empowerment,  she also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Spectrum Life Magazine. Tara was also the founder of Autism Empowerment’s Tween and Teen Social Club.

Tara and her husband, Jeff, are proud parents to two very busy sons, including an autistic young adult.
