Hello! Welcome to Autism Empowerment’s Community Calendar page.  We are based in Vancouver, WA in Clark County. This section contains a calendar of upcoming Autism Empowerment  events taking place in the Southwest Washington and Portland, Oregon metro area.

Autism Support Group for Dads & Male Caregivers

For the past four years, Autism Empowerment has hosted and facilitated a support group for dads and male caregivers living or working in the Southwest Washington area. Men from the Portland area or outside this region are also welcome to attend.

Casual – Impactful – Meaningful Support

Monthly casual meetings with periodic events and other connection opportunities

Open to Dads and male caregivers who are supporting children, teens and adults of all abilities on the autism spectrum and/or with neurological differences. This is a peer to peer group and topics range widely but often include: parenting, school, employment, social opportunities, healthcare, housing, guardianship and community resources.

We also occasionally bring in guest speakers.

  • When: 3rd Friday of most months from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Stephen’s Place, 501 SE Ellsworth Road, Vancouver, WA 98664 (new location as of October 2017)
  • Parking available in front and side. Meeting is in front conference room.
  • Bring: Yourself and any resources you might like to share
  • Snacks, beverages and sponsorship provided by Autism Empowerment with space provided by Stephen’s Place

Are you an adult on the autism spectrum looking for support and the opportunity to connect with others who may be traveling a similar journey? Come join us!

Autism Empowerment offer a monthly coed peer-led support group open to adults of all ages with Autism / Asperger’s or who believe they may be on the autism spectrum.  

If there is demand, we may do occasional service volunteer projects or connect for social activities.  Part of the support group is also providing you with meaningful resources that you can take home and connect with.

The goal is a support group where people feel included, accepted and respected and become enriched and empowered along the way. If this sounds like something of interest to you, please feel free to check us out and know upfront that it is okay to be anxious. (Chances are, many of us in the room will feel that way too!)

  • When: 2nd Friday of most months from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (unless noted otherwise below)
