Easter Egg Hunt for Acceptance of ALL Abilities – 2015 Resources

25763_sourceAutism Empowerment is hosting the 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Acceptance of All Abilities on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 from Noon – 4 PM at McKenzie Stadium in Vancouver, Washington.

This FREE Easter Egg Hunt, Cross-Disability Resource Fair and afternoon of Eggstra fun entertainment, inclusion and acceptance is open to individuals of all ages with autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities or special needs of any type. We also welcome families, friends and community members who want to promote inclusion. Essentially, if you are on the human spectrum, you are welcome to attend!

Why do you have a cross-disability resource fair at the event?

acceptanceforallribbonsThe vision we work toward is an inclusive society that accepts and respects all youth and adults on the human spectrum and empowers each person to reach his or her highest potential. For that to take place, Autism Empowerment and the Southwest Washington Disability Alliance want individuals and families to feel accepted, enriched, inspired and empowered when it comes to finding information about programs, training, services and special events that support our local autism community and disability community.

Many youth, adults and parents report feeling isolated or alone when trying to navigate the complexities of autism and other disabilities. There are a lot of great resources in our area but it can sometimes be overwhelming to sort through them. In addition to providing you email addresses, website links and phone numbers through our FREE online Southwest Washington / Portland metro Resource Guide, we want you to have the opportunity to meet local service providers, first responders and support groups face-to-face.

Who will be part of the Resource Area?

This year, a variety of cross-disability agencies, clubs, support groups, health care providers and service providers will be exhibiting. Some will be providing resources and some will provide activities. There will also be for-profit organizations that believe in supporting our community.
