Core Values, Beliefs, and Goals

At Autism Empowerment, our work is guided by four foundational pillars and values that shape everything we do: Accept, Enrich, Inspire, and Empower.

These values are at the heart of our mission, our programs, and our community. They represent a commitment to honoring the full diversity of the autism spectrum and uplifting individuals and families across all ages and stages of life.

Accept

We promote the unconditional acceptance of autistic individuals for who they are, celebrating each person’s identity, communication style, and way of experiencing the world. Acceptance includes self-acceptance, family acceptance, and community inclusion. You are welcome here, just as you are.

Enrich

We provide inclusive resources, education, and opportunities to support lifelong learning, growth, and connection. We seek to enrich the lives of autistic individuals, their families, and allies by removing barriers and sharing tools for success.

Inspire

We uplift and celebrate the unique strengths, voices, and contributions of neurodivergent people. By sharing authentic stories, experiences, and creative expression, we foster a culture of compassion, courage, and collective growth.

Empower

We support autistic individuals in recognizing their strengths, embracing their identities, and developing the confidence and tools to advocate for themselves and others. Empowerment includes access to knowledge, opportunities, and community that honors dignity and self-determination.

Our Beliefsfree to be authentic

  • Autistic individuals have the right to define themselves and be supported without judgment, labels, or stereotypes.
  • Neurodiversity is a strength, and honoring differences is key to creating a just and inclusive world.
  • We are not in competition with others. We believe in collaboration, community, and connection.
  • Everyone has value. We are called to serve with compassion, lead with humility, and grow together.
  • Positive change happens when we listen to lived experience, center marginalized voices, and act with purpose.

Our Goals

  • Foster widespread acceptance of neurodivergent individuals and families.
  • Serve and uplift people across the entire autism spectrum, including multiply disabled, nonspeaking, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and underserved communities.
  • Replace outdated stereotypes with accurate, respectful representation.
  • Provide resources and community connections that make navigating education, healthcare, and life transitions easier.
  • Demystify complex systems and offer compassionate, culturally responsive guidance.
  • Help autistic individuals recognize and build upon their strengths, gifts, and passions.
  • Empower self-advocacy, peer mentoring, and leadership at every age and stage.
  • Inspire storytelling, creativity, and the sharing of lived experiences.
  • Promote inclusive communication, respect for all identities, and language that honors autonomy.
  • Create a world where every autistic person is respected, included, and empowered to thrive.
